Netflix in Europe ain’t bad, but there are a lot of series not available in Europe. One of my favorites is Battlestar Galactica. I have them all at home, but not on the road. And while staying in some cheap-ass hotel for a night with nothing good on TV, I need some options :)
Getting Netflix to play US content on your computer is easy enough; use the Chrome extension MediaHint. How to play US content on Netflix app on your tablet or phone?
After upgrading OSX to version 10.9 I find myself investigating why my development server no longer works. After 4 upgrades I now have a clear list of things to check and how to fix.
If you have not yet upgraded OSX, take the time to back-up your /etc/php.ini and /etc/apache2/httpd.conf. Also; OSX 10.9 Mavericks will upgrade PHP to PHP 5.4, so if you have projects incompatible with 5.4; a) don’t upgrade OSX, b) start upgrading your code or c) use a different AMP-stack.
Also; if you depend on your computer for your income, don’t rush into this!

Whoah, that was unexpected;
I just upgraded Xcode to 5.0 and now the – what used to be 1.6 – subversion on /usr/bin/svn is version 1.7. So…. My previous post about automatic version switching? Down the drain! :)
[UPDATE] This post is useless when you upgrade Xcode to version 5.0. If you use version 4 or you’re using a linux environment with svn 1.6 and 1.7 simultaneously; read on :) [/UPDATE]
So you have these projects in your development tree, these are probably managed by the version of Subversion as used on your mac – which with a very high probability would be version 1.6. But now and again, you might find yourself with a Subversion 1.7 project you received from someone else. Your mac will then shout something like this;
svn: The path '.' appears to be part of a Subversion 1.7 or greater
working copy. Please upgrade your Subversion client to use this
working copy.If – like me – you are NOT prepared to switch to SubVersioN 1.7 entirely, then read on :)

Recently I installed IOS7 Beta 1 on my iPhone 4 (3,1) 32 GB. Am I happy? well, a tiny bit, but not much, really. I’ll tell you why. But first; IOS7 takes a lot of time to get used to. It’s crisp, ultra sharp, takes the most out of the Retina display’s. I absolutely love it. It’s just … the color scheme, the flatness, it is all very very new and definitely stolen from Android. Sorry Apple, but it’s true, I cannot deny it. I do know, however, eventually we’ll love it.
